Since it’s inception in 2011, Bond-eye Swim Australia has become synonymous with cutting edge design, unique fabrications, and strong attention to detail. The brand’s founder and CEO, Steve Philpott says, “My vision was to create a brand for the ‘ultra cool set’ that is daring, cheeky, and glamorous” Designed and handmade in Australia, the name is an ode to the famous Bondi Beach in Sydney.
With a strong focus on head turning cuts, luxe fabrics, and ultra chic style, Bond-eye is a swim brand that mixes high quality, flattering design with a strong commitment to eco-consciousness and ethical practices. With their sustainability journey beginning in 2018, the brand has continued to strive in their efforts to minimize their impact on the planet. These new practices include the introduction of regenerated Nylon, a partnership with UPPARREL to recycle all fabric scraps into new materials, and using solar energy in their factory for dyeing processes. They also began using compostable + biodegradable poly bags for packaging and using recycled materials to create their swing tags and sewn-in garment tags.
Bond-eye continues to exemplify their commitment to charitable causes through their partnership with i-change, promoting awareness and making donations from the sales of their garments to such causes as Restoring the Coral Reefs, Providing Dignity during Natural Disasters, and the Prevention of Child Trafficking through Education.

The brand has spent the last few years making a splash in the swimwear scene with their Bound by Bond-eye Collection. These pieces are constructed from a fabric called MAXXAM®. This tubular, crinkle fabric (made famous in the 1980’s!) is knitted from premium European fibres that allow for a four-way stretch and recovery while still maintaining it’s body hugging shape. This innovative fabric allows for a “one size fits most” approach to design and allows the pieces to fit and flatter a range of different body shapes and sizes. In an interview with The Daily Mail, Bound by Bond-eye Designer Mim Good says, “It (the fabric) comes as a tube which doesn’t have side seams. This means it can stretch from a smaller woman to one who is larger. If you have bigger hips or a bigger bust or a small waist, the fabric will curve and mould itself to your body shape and hugs you in a way that other swimsuits don’t” She goes on to say, “It’s a beautifully simple thing. How great is it to not have to worry about sizing when you are shopping?”
Seen on models, influencers, and celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Hailey Beiber, Kourtney Kardashian, and Canadian model Kate Bock (who has collaborated with the brand for a limited edition collection!) and gracing the pages of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issues, this cutting edge collection continues to grow it’s following of devoted fans!
