Who better to create a sandal brand than a woman who’s authentically lived a majority of her days in them? Malvados Founder, Jen Rainnie has lived the epitome of a life of wanderlust! “Malvados” meaning “wicked” in Spanish is an homage to Jen’s favourite word in her 20’s. A former Canadian Windsurfing Champion, Jen’s life has been filled with paths of adventure. After spending more than a decade living a nomadic lifestyle in her van wearing flip flops nearly every day, she returned home to Canada to begin a long and successful career in the action sportswear industry. Upon observing the lack of comfy, yet luxurious sandals on the market, Jen set out to create just that!
“We couldn’t find it, so we made it: a stylish sandal for every sun-on-your-face, live-concert, first-sip-of-margarita kind of moment. Women-owned and operated, and designed in Vancouver, BC, we create footwear for the wild at heart, the thrill seekers and the courageous dreamers. Malvados proves sandals aren’t just for the beach—they’re also for every festival, wind-in-your-hair, road-tripping moment in between.”
